A week in the exhibition space - The good and the bad
After the opening night, we had to unit for a further week, the space was open throughout the whole week from 9 - 6 most days. We had to be down in the space all the time. It was good to be out of the studios in uni for a while and spend some time somewhere else, working within the exhibition was quite nice as it was a big open space and filled with inspiration.
Over the weekend we did get quite a lot of visitors to the exhibition, I think these were either coming back from the opening night or ones that couldn't make it. It was prime time for the exhibition over the weekend as it was the time when no-one was at work. Through the week it was a lot slower, we did have people come in most days, but there wasn't a constant stream.
This did have its advantages, as it gave us time to finish off documenting the project and putting things online. We also had time to answer emails to designers involved etc. The time was also good to get on with our own work, as Dialogue had been such a big project, other projects were put to the side.
We both feel that if we were to do this again, then we would possibly look at having the exhibition on for less time, a week was quite a long time and whilst we could still get on with doing other things, through the week there really wasn't that much interest. Or possibly finding somewhere where the exhibition could be on for a week, but in a space where we didn't have to be present all the time.
