Selling the artwork
One the opening night and the time we spent in the exhibition space after, a lot of people were asking about the prints and if they were available to buy. The designers which were involved in the prints were all saying that they would buy their own print, because they were so good! So it cam back the subject and a discussion again. We both were happy to sell the work, as we had a lot of prints and it would be a good way to make back some of the money we put in or even to put it back into a future exhibition.
Which thinking about it in this way, we came up with the idea of emailing all the designer which were involved in the prints in the exhibition. We emailed them stating that demand for buying the artwork was high and that we felt it was a great idea to sell the prints. We would use the profit from the prints to put back into the exhibition project to firstly cover the costs of this exhibition, but also to fund the next exhibition. We thought if anyone was against it, they would let us know and we could come to some agreement, but everyone was happy with it and all for us to sell the work.
From this point onwards, anyone who asked about buying the work, we sold it to them. On the final day of the exhibition we decided to have a print sale. As the exhibition was coming down the next day, it didn't really make any difference to us and it would hopefully bring some more attention to the exhibition and get people to come down.
